Project Description

Originally built in 1958, the homeowners purchased this urban split level house knowing the building would need to be both substantially renovated and sensitively expanded to meet their contemporary & busy lifestyle. The owners' design goals were to respect the overall layout of the building, expand the entry to create a welcoming foyer space, build an addition for a separate dining room that would provide the flexibility to accommodate extended family and friends, design a two story addition for a third car garage & spacious new master bedroom suite, reconfigure and design the bathrooms, and provide updated windows and exterior finishes. The completed renovations and building additions seamlessly connect the old and new parts of the house to create a modern and carefully scaled design that harmonizes with the site & original structure. The final design reflects the owners' vision and was the result of ongoing collaboration and involvement with the owner from the design phase and thru construction.
