Luxe Magazine & The Seattle Design Center sponsored Barkitecture--a charity event in support of Seattle's Children's Playhouse and the Seattle Humane Society. AKJ Architects partnered with Peak Builders, Ragen & Associates, The Sliding Door Company, Six Wall Interiors, Duralee Fabric & Furniture, and Glassworks to create this historically inspired Tudor Revival Manor dog house and garden which was auctioned off for charity to the owner of Puppy Manners.
This historically inspired Tudor Revival Manor is designed to complement a traditional home. Harvard Hound Manor celebrates preservation as a strategy for both respecting Seattle's history and promoting sustainable renovations of period homes in our city's most desirable neighborhoods. The project demonstrates the timeless impact that quality design, durable materials, and hand craftsmanship have on a structure. Design characteristics such as the elaborately detailed woodwork, authentic brick and dog-bone themed leaded glass windows are beautifully proportioned on each facade to create a rhythm that draws your eye around the design. The home is set within a classic landscape design composed of a graceful stone path, water fountain and topiary. Within the building, a lush dog bed awaits a lucky canine companion
