This Seattle ADU (Attached Dwelling Unit) design was conceived as a second-floor building addition on top of an existing two car garage structure. At just over 500 square feet, every inch of this design was valuable for creating a functional design. To make the living, dining, and kitchen area open, light filled and spacious, cathedral ceilings and a steel structural element was custom sized to allow for a column free space. The one-bedroom apartment can be used for family or rented out as an income producing property.
